Professional CV Templates

A look at how a Winning CV is crafted - strategic, ATS-friendly and easy on the eye. These examples show the approach, not real client documents.

*These are not real clients' CVs but show largely how it's done by Winning CVs.

Standard CV

Suits everyone due to its understated, subtle, sophisticated presence.

  • Expected: It closely aligns with all expectations of senior-level CVs - with a concise top profile; clear role titles, skills and headers; clear-cut sections with no tables, text boxes, columns or pictures that confuse ATS (CV scanning software); and obvious achievements.
  • Strategy: Strategically created to mitigate negative impact and amplify the positive - from ensuring it's easy on the eye to making the person's value obvious from the start, without the 'fluff'. Gill Sans Nova Light was designed in 1928 as a modern, easy-to-read font, ideal for CVs.
  • Clarity: Because recruiters/employers spend just seconds scanning CVs, all clients' two-page CVs have an elevated section on page one for achievements or stand-out points. This is just one thing Winning CVs does that ensures you are a top, if not the top, candidate. People do say in reviews, calls and emails that these are noticed by employers and mentioned in interviews - including with Tier 1 companies.
  • Senior Feel: Winning CVs recently instated this look for all customers after previously using it solely for non-executive director (NED) goals, because well, why not ensure that ALL clients benefit from a high-level aesthetic - if it smacks of senior leader, perhaps that will help others to give off the right impression and climb up that ladder?
  • Backed Up by Sense: What if a reader hates the colour you use and it impacts your application? We like using colour on CVs, but for this reason, it's best to make it understated.

Alternative Aesthetic

This look and some variations were used for 4-5 years for almost all clients, and proved incredibly popular. You may have this template, adjusting the colouring as per your preference.

It fits the expectations of a senior and mid-level CV, passes through CV-scanning software (ATS) due to using a colour block rather than an image or text box, and has delivered many feet through the door, so to speak!

College Leaver CV

For those people who have little or no work experience - maximise what you have! Can be with or without a picture.

Inclusion of a picture is generally seen as bad practice in the UK, in particular due to subconscious bias, however, just as usual (maximising all available, relevant details), when a youngster has very little else to put on the CV, we need to work with and maximise what we do have.

This little darling does not have much, but what he does have is maximised to the hilt. Winning CVs, through an in-depth consultation with your little darling (possibly with you listening in and answering some questions), will do the same for them!
