Winning CVs was founded in 2021 by Becky Stock (BA CELTA CPRW Dip.Career.Couns) to offer customers the very best professional CV writing services.
She draws from years of successful experience in the field - writing for many other CV companies (encompassing the prestigious, the good and the not so great!) and picking up all the best practice available.
This experience included rectifying many CVs other writers had written and realising just how much of a difference her education (English & TEFL degree), affinity with grammar (passed on by her mother!), keen attention to aesthetics and background in proofreading and copywriting made to the quality of the finished articles.

Back in school, Becky wanted to write for a living, and aged 18/19 added counselling to her goals. It took a while to achieve these goals though due to some interruptions in focus, yet whilst working as a support worker for people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours, noticed that there could be a call for her grammar skills.
So, she began to proofread for publishers, took an English & TEFL degree (focusing heavily on grammar and writing techniques as opposed to literature), and went on to write marketing copy for some big names (e.g., lastminutedotcom and Clarks [shoes]) - all while bringing up a toddler and proofreading 10 books, three-four master's theses and a global law firm's daily communications.
Proofreading and copywriting, however, began to feel a little 'so what?' and under-rewarding, and 18 months after graduating, an opportunity arose to write CVs, LinkedIn profiles and cover letters for the well-known CV writing organisation, James Innes / CV Centre. This felt rewarding (despite a serious learning curve) and Becky went on to write for over 10 companies including 'CV Writers' in Winchester - where she learned that a consultation is paramount to creating a solid CV. She at the time built their 4.8-star Google profile almost single-handedly with around 60 5-star reviews and assisted the owner by taking over operations whilst they were away.
In 2020, she successfully achieved the CPRW (global CV writing) accreditation to qualify her skills, and in 2021 she fulfilled that dream of becoming a qualified counsellor, with a careers counselling qualification recognised by the National UK Therapists Register. As Becky has always sought to source work through her own site, Winning CVs was born - amalgamating all that wisdom combined with solid, straightforward and timely customer communication that makes things work.
Mum to a head-strong, creative 18-year-old, Becky is nurturing, understanding and able to offer a wealth of career, company and role insights to all manner of clients. She enjoys developing fantastic relations with diverse customers from students to CEOs and finds that the TEFL experience really aids communications with customers whose first language is not English - she is patient and understanding of the difficulties of speaking and writing in another language and has the utmost respect for people who do so.
She is trained and highly experienced in managing all manner of career and CV situations - including different versions, career change, extra-long / short CVs, no existing CV, career gaps / return to work, side steps, up-steps one, two or three levels, NED CVs, and stepping down a level or three, etc. Becky is most used to serving senior leaders (male and female) - of global corporates, government organisations, national charities and international brands for example, but loves writing for women and young people, those in difficulty, those transitioning careers and the underdog.
